NEWSDESK, — The indefinite hunger strike staged by the Kurdish prisoners in Turkey’s prisons has become the matter of discussion among some European circles.
Denmark’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, was questioned by the parliament in relation to the hunger strike, report said. Members of Sweden Social Democrats also displayed their support in a statement for the hunger strikers.
The PKK and PAJK prisoners held in Turkey and North Kurdistan prisons had launched a hunger strike which entered its 45th day today demanding an end to isolation of Kurdish national leader and the use of Kurdish language in defence trials as well as in the public.
Denmark Minister for Foreign Affairs, Nikola Walumsen was questioned by the Danish Parliament in relation to the hunger strike. Invoking the international standards for human rights, Mr Walumsen challenged the treatment of hunger strikers by Turkish authorities.
Some members of Swedish Social Democrat Party in a statement expressed their backing for the hunger strikers and demanded their release form Turkish prisons.
