NEWSDESK, — The hunger strike launched by PKK and PAJK prisoners in Turkish jails has entered its 45th day. The health conditions of many prisoners are reported critical.
Demonstrations are taking place in Turkey and across the European countries to support the demands made by the hunger strikers. A three day hunger strike was staged in Stockholm in solitary with the prisoners.
The PKK and PAJK prisoners demand a lift of isolation imposed on the Kurdish national leader Abdullah Ocalan and his release from Imrali Island prison.
They also demand the recognition of Kurdish language in education, in the public sphere as well as in the defence trials.
