BAHDINAN, Defence Zones of Medya, — In memorial to Sureya Aslan (Rojin Gewda) a senior member of YJA-Star (Kurdish Female Army) who lost her life in 4th October in a battle with Turkish army in Colemerg, coordination of Kurdistan Free Women Party (PAJK) released a statement venerating her.
“Comrade Rojin,” outlined the statement, “had been wounded in many battles. Yet she has always positioned herself at the forefront of our resistance. That is why she was a pioneering and contemporary commander.”
PAJK stressed in the statement that the struggle which Rojin endeavoured to bring it to the ultimate end of victory would be enhanced to the highest point by their guerrilla ranks.
“Our liberation struggle for the freedom of Leader Apo and the attainment of free status for the Kurds has engendered unique stage given the strategy of revolutionary war enshrined in the fourth phase of our resistance,” continued the statement.
The Kurdish freedom fighters have enhanced Kurdish liberation struggle with orchestrated revolutionary moves staged throughout North Kurdistan in particular in Botan and Zagros fields.
A revolutionary operation was conducted by the Kurdish guerrillas in Geleyi Doske in 4 October in which the senior commander of JYA-Star and HPG, Rojin Gewda was killed.
Within her 20-years-long campaign, added the statement, Rojin Gewda demonstrated her altruistic spirit which permeated her entire guerrilla life and with a powerful will she persisted on the struggle for the freedom of women.
At the end of the statement PAJK pledges to continue the path of their slain comrades. “Once again, we pledge to our nation that we stand up for Rojin Gewda and all those who lost their lives in this struggle,” ended the statement.
