URMIYE, East Kurdistan, — To protest against the unwavering pattern of shooting and killing of Kurdish kolbers local people in Rajane town of Urmiye have called for a general strike.
People in Rajane have distributed leaflets calling upon people in Urmiye province particularly the residents of Terewir and Mergewir to denounce the killing of Kurdish kolbers in non-violent and mass protests.
Kolbers are those who ferry goods across the borders selling them in the black market. Dozens of them are killed each year by the direct shot of Iranian Security forces while hundreds wounded.
In the announcement published and distributed by the resident of Rajane such killings are strongly denounced. It also calls upon the people for mass protests to be carried on Friday.
