German Parliament discusses recognition of Kurdish identity

BERLIN, — German Federal Parliament is to convene today Monday to consider recognition of Kurdish national identity in this country, report said.

Delegates of 20 Kurdish institutions and organisations comprised of 80 individuals are said to attend Parliament meeting.

German deputies from CDO, CSO, FDP as well as Green and Left parties are to attend the meeting that is said to be broadcasted in Parliament TV.

Hundreds of institutions, communities, intellectuals, authors, artists, and politicians in Germany have requested the German Parliament to yield to Kurdish aspirations.

It should be noted that from 1 to 15 September 2011 more than 50,000 signatures were collected in a campaign titled “Recognise Kurdish Identity” to support the Kurdish cause Germany.

German Parliament convenes today to discuss the issue of recognising of the Kurdish identity in this country.
