A political activist sentenced to 3 years

SEQIZ, — Pressures on political and civil activists by the Islamic regime of Iran has taken a sharp increase. A Kurdish activist was sentenced to three years imprisonment by Seqiz Revolution Court.

Hesen Fatimi a Kurdish resident of Seqiz city was tried by Revolution Court and sentenced to three years on the charge of propaganda against the Islamic regime and affiliation with one of the Kurdish political parties.

Mr Fatimi who is disabled from both legs is said to have been held in Seqiz prison to serve his term.

Mr Fatimi had also been arrested last year by the Iranian Security Forces and held incommunicado for a period after which he was released on bail.
