BERLIN, — The German Minister for Foreign Affairs has warned German citizens refrain from travelling to Turkey where it has witnessed an unprecedented upsurge of violence since 1984 when the PKK launched its military campaign against Turkish colonial army.
Serious fighting between the Turkish army and the PKK guerrillas have been going on in the south-west Turkey, wrote the German Minister for Foreign on his website.
Travelling to those areas is dangerous, he continued, the PKK has severely intensified its attacks so does the Turkish army. Turkey is even likely to launch cross border attack, he added.
He also warned German citizens not using the public transportation in Turkey, neither approaching any military buildings as they would not be safe.
