NEWSDESK, — The Iranian Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) has been expanding its presence in East Kurdistan for the last few months.
The IRGC has been sending heavy weaponries and ammunitions to the cities of Shino, Meriwan, Xane, Qesri Shirin and Mako and has highly militarised these cities.
In relation to the current military sabre-rattling of the Iranian regime, the Kurdistan’s Free Life Party (PJAK) released a statement pointing to the latest moves made by the IRGC.
According to PJAK’s statement the IRGC has launched military operations from Ilxan and Miwele districts of Mako County from 30 August. The operations are reported to have encompassed all the highland zones where some units of the IRGC are still present.
The PJAK statement added that at the same day further operations carried out in the villages of Meshk, Piryar, and Dlala which ended without any specific occurrence or casualties.
The IRGC had made another excursion to the border villages of Axgil, Qlni, as well as the Shipship Mount on 31 August but withdrew the following evening.
According to Firat News Agency the security charge of East Kurdistan has been entrusted to IRGC as well as the Iranian Intelligence Service who have taken unprecedented security masseurs and have exceedingly militarised East Kurdistan.
