IRGC attack on Kurdish kolbers leaves 11 victims

jini_kolberXANE, — The killing of Kurdish kolbers by the Iranian gunmen is on the raise in the East Kurdistan. Following the assault of Iranian Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on a set of kolbers in Xane (Piranshar) 4 were killed and 7 wounded.

According to local sources the IRGC ambushed a set of sixteen kolbers on the border region of Xane and opened fire on them which led in the killing of 4 and wounding of 7.

In the last two weeks at least 4 more kolbers were shot dead on the borders of Serdesht by the Iranian Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) who set ambushes on their passages.

Kolbers are those Kurdish youth who ferry goods such as sugar, tea, fuel and crystal across the borders to make living for their families.

They often carry the goods on their back or use horse or mule to ferry them. The IRGC have shown no mercy in shooting the kolbers as well as their mules.

Each year dozens of Kurdish kolbers are killed and many more are wounded or handicapped by the direct shooting of IRGC.

According to International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran, at least 70 kolbers had been killed in 2011 by the direct shot of IRGC, 4 kolbers died as the result of mine explosion or harsh situation, and 76 kolbers had been wounded.
