XANE, — A kolber was wounded when the Iranian border guards opened fire on a group of them crossing the border from Xane (Piranshar) region.
Kolbers are those workers ferrying goods on their back across the border to make the living. They have been subject to regular shooting of the Iranian soldiers guarding the borders.
According to local sources a group of kolbers who were passing Beri Mergan village of Xane city came under the gunfire of the border guards two days ago.
A kolber named as Qadir Fathi was wounded as the result of the gunfire. He is from the Qebri Husen village of Xane city.
It was reported that at least 13 head of horses used by the kolbers were also killed.
