NEWSDESK, — Iran’s effort to block the flow of water to South Kurdistan has culminated to its apex recently by seeking to drain Dukan Lake.
After blocking the flow of Elwend and Qoretu rivers, Iran is trying to block the water sources and the rivers flowing to Dukan Lake.
According to a report published in Hawlati news outlet, Iran has intensified its efforts to block the flow of water to Dukan Lake which provides South Kurdistan with it major bulk of water.
It was reported that Iran is intending to divert the direction of few rivers that are currently flowing to Dukan River to Urmiye Lake, a project that might drain South Kurdistan of its major water resources.
