SELMAS, East Kurdistan, — According to the latest correspondence a Kurdish kolber was shot dead by the Iranian Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on the borders of Selmas city.
Kolbers are those workers who ferry goods on their back across the pseudo-borders of Kurdistan to make living for their families.
According to the local sources a Kurdish youth of 23 age named as Saleh was gun downed by the Iranian gunmen and killed on the spot.
Kurdish kolbers are subject to systematic killing of atrocious character by the Iranian Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC). Dozens of kolbers are killed and many more wounded each year.
Many kolbers who get arrested have been imprisoned or placed under burdensome fine of which they can not afford to pay.
Many detained kolbers are forced by the government to enlist in the pro-state militias known as Basiji to fight the Kurdish guerrillas.
The Iranian government has tried to portray the Kurdish liberation movement resisting the state oppression as “terrorist”, but the systematic killing of Kurdish workers on the border is a clear example of the state terror the Kurds have been subjected to.
