COLEMERG, — Turkish police fired at Kurdish mourners in Colemerg attending the funeral of PKK guerrilla Cengiz Ozek (Êriş Dildar), killing a 15 year old Kurd.
Ozgur Taşar, 15 year old, was hit by a bullet fired by Turkish police and taken to hospital where he later died.
On Wednesday, June 6, tens of thousands of people attended the funeral of the guerrilla who had lost his life on May 26 in Kayseri, holding the portrait of the fighter and the flags of the PKK.
After the funeral, thousands of people headed toward the house of the parents of the guerrilla, shouting slogans against the AKP regime led by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The police then intervened violently against demonstrators using live bullets and water cannons.
Ozgur Taşar was hospitalized after being hit by a bullet to the chest, but he did not survive.
The chief doctor of the hospital in Yuksekova confirmed that the young man was shot. Two other people were injured in the attack policemen.
Each year, dozens of Kurdish people, including children are killed by security forces of the regime who benefit from full immunity.
