NEWSDESK, — A member of the Kurdish National Council of Syria revealed that, the purpose of the Council’s visit to Washington was to warn both the current government and the opposition that they cannot disregard the Kurds.
With regard to current situation in Syria he said, regime has taken an advantage over Kofi Annan’s peace plan to kill more people, because the current government does not want peace process and does not believe in democracy, therefore he added, the situations is getting worse.
He said the Council has met with the American Congress and Foreign Ministry, believing that the future Syria will be for everyone; and another part of Kurdistan will gain autonomy in its rights, he added.
He announced that, the visit has provided an opportunity to underscore the United States’ view that Kurds are a key part of Syria’s national fabric and of the popular uprising against Assad family rule.
