Kurdish radio station to be closed in Baghdad

sefeq_796545050BAGHDAD, Iraq, — Official letter has been sent to Kurdish radio station from the ministry of environment demanding its closure within the next ten days.  This is the only Kurdish radio station in Baghdad.

Jawad Kazim the Shaqaq radio station manager has told Rudaw news agency on Sunday they have received an official letter requesting to close down the station.

Jawad believes this is a political decision which stemming from the current crisis between Baghdad and Hewler which influenced ministry of environment.

This decision is only for the Kurdish radio station excluding other stations in the same area.
