8 Kurdish workers arrested in Mako

kasb-karMAKO, East Kurdistan, — Eight Kurdish workers were arrested by the Iranian Border Guards in Boranan region around the city of Mako.

A group of Kurdish workers came under the gunfire of the Iranian soldiers near the artificial border between south and east of Kurdistan in 5th April and eight of them were captured.

Three of workers are identified as Mohemed Qezelbash, Cemal Qezelbash and Eli Deno Qezelbash. The names of others have not been reported yet.

The eyes witnesses have reported that the workers were tortured extremely while they were arrested and then transferred to unknown place.

Due to underdevelopment and lack of investment in Kurdistan thousands of Kurdish people are driven to work on the pseudo-borders of Kurdistan carrying goods on the back. Tens of them are killed or wounded by the gun fire of Iranian Revolution Guards and hundreds of them are detained each year.
