NEWSDESK, — Thousands of Kurds have set out to Amara, the birthplace of Abdullah Ocalan, despite the government ban and the police control and check points on the road to this town.
Tomorrow 4th April is birthday of Kurdish national leader Abdullah Ocalan that will be celebrated throughout Kurdistan and within the Kurdish communities in Diaspora.
The celebration was banned by the Turkish authorities but Kurdish politicians have assured that they will match to Amara.
The massive response from the Kurdish people who hired minibuses and cars to reach Amara shows that Kurds are not ready to bow to yet another ban.
Amara is in the province of Urfa. TUHAD-FED (Solidarity with prisoners association) has taken a lead in organizing transport from many cities. Minibuses and cars have been leaving Şirnex, Wan, Muş as well as Amed and Merdin.
