URMIYE, East Kurdistan, — According to our local correspondents two Kurdish political prisoners named as Ceefer Efshari and Eli Mohemmedi Eqdem are on hunger strike.
Mr Efshari from Mehabad city has been on hanger strike since February the 3rd . It’s reported that he has been taken to a solitary containment due to his strike.
The other prisoner Mr Mohemmedi Eqdem launched a hunger strike on February 19th. He was arrested on the ground of threatening the public security.
Mr Mohemmedi Eqdem was sentenced to death at the first court, however; his charge was commuted to 18 years imprisonment in the high court.
Mr Mohemmedi Eqdem is from Kirmashan city and was an officer in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
