Kebudwend on hunger strike

KebudwendTEHRAN, — Muhemmed Sediq Kebudwend the founder of Kurdistan Human Rights Organisation interned in ward number 350 of Ewin Prison launched a hunger strike on Sunday.

In a letter written to Tehran prosecutor, the founder of Kurdistan Human Rights Organisation outlined the reasons for hunger strike as follow:

  1. Lack of permission to see my son who suffers from cancer and is at the verge of death, in spite of my frequent request for visit.
  2. Lack of medical attention and inattention to practitioners’ reports in relation to my inability to endure punishments.
  3. Depravation from the very basic human rights of a prisoner endorsed by legal foundations including family visit which have resulted in the psychological torments of my family.
  4. The illegality of the sentence and the imposition of the ultimate punishments and the incompatibility of the sentences with all the legal and official principles.

At the end of the letter Mr Kebudwend writes; “Although I see the hunger strike in violation of the principles of human rights and the right to live, but this is the only and the final way that the juridical and security establishments have imposed on me”.
