Artists’ delegation to visit Roboski village

Roboski_MasaccreSIRNAK, — The second delegation of artists is scheduled to visit Roboski village and its residents who witnessed one of the most horrendous slaughter in the history of the region.

Turkish Armed Forces carried out an air strike on 28 December on a group of Kurdish workers in Roboski village killing 35 of them.

The authorities tried to cover up the massacre by saying that it was an “operational mistake” and talked of compensation. Their only taken action has been to summon three survivors of the massacre to the local gendarmerie interrogating them and charging them for smuggling.

The second delegation of artists including Halil Ergun, Ahmet Soner, Pelin Batu and Kazim Oz are going to visit the village on 21 January. Their purpose is to ensure that nobody will forget the Roboski massacre.
