KCK: Roboski Massacre was completely planned

KCK_LeadershipMEDYA REGIONS, — The Presidency of the KCK (Kurdish Communities Union) released a statement in regard to Roboski Massacre in which at least 36 civilian Kurds were killed.

Within the statement the KCK expressed condolences to people of Roboski (a district in Sirnak province) and Kurdish people all over Kurdistan.

The KCK presidency underlined that “This massacre is an organized and planned massacre to intimidate the patriotic and devoted people of Botan. This massacre is not a massacre carried out by any-odd unit. It is a massacre ordered by the AKP state, coordinated and carried out within a chain of command receiving its technical and intelligence support from the USA. This massacre has been carried out in accordance with a concept and goes way beyond the incident of “33 Bullets” carried out by the Turkish colonialism. This massacre is completely planned and targets to achieve a certain aim”.

In relation to the Turkish media, the statement outlined that, “The Turkish media is deadly silent; showing how well it is in line with the chain of command. The police-like media in Turkey have began reporting the incident 15 hours after it had taken place and in accordance with the statement of the Turkish Armed Forces and trying to cover up the truth of the matter. This situation has yet again shown the double standards and bias of the Turkish media. The position of the Turkish media is at the same time a disgrace to the international ethics of media standards. The general public and the people of Kurdistan have yet again seen that the Turkish media is not an independent media that publishes the truth but a media that publishes whatever its state tells them to. Indeed, the psychological warfare taken up against the people of Kurdistan can be continued because of the existence of such media”.

As for the statement made by the Turkish Armed Forces 15 hours after the incident and the distortions made in this statement, the KCK says it “proves that this incident has been intentional”.

The biggest distortion and untrue information given, underlines the statement “are in relation to the location of the incident; the “region of Haftanin-Sinaht and somewhere near PKK main camps”. The region called Sinaht is at least 30 km to the location of the incident. This incident has not occurred anywhere near”Haftanin and main camps” but has occurred right at the border and more to the Turkish border side. In addition, the information that this area is used by the guerrillas is totally imaginary. It is impossible for the Turkish Armed Forces not to know that these civilians were not guerrillas. In fact, this is a route used by the civil people for the past 7-8 years and the army personnel are well aware of this. Anyone who has some knowledge of the situation there would know that guerrillas would not move with 40 to 50 mules in the middle of winter in that region. When all the dimensions of the incident together with the statement of the Turkish Armed Forces are considered, it becomes clear that this incident has been masterminded intentionally and in an organized manner against the patriotic people of Uludere. This is a massacre in line with the “unilateral integration strategy” of the state to suppress and intimidate the Kurdish people within the framework of its all out war”.

The KCK presidency called on people not to stay silent “in the face of this massacre and to hold the state accountable for this. We call on the Kurdish women and Kurdish youth as well as all our patriotic people together with all the democratic organizations and institutions to not to be silent in the face of AKP state’s savagery and to hold the perpetrators of these massacres accountable for what they have done and to raise the Serhildan,” the statement ends.
