Wallerstein condemns journalists’ detention

WalersteinNEWSDESK, — The American philosopher Immanuel Wallerstein condemned the Turkish so called KCK operations against the Kurdish journalists and political activists remarking; “This is a going towards the wrong way.”

Speaking to Germany centered Yeni Ozgur Politika paper, professor Wallerstein pointed out that the ‘KCK operation’ couldn’t be seen as something apart from the Kurdish problem.

Wallerstein also stated that the political slaughter operations were a result of AKP government’s deadlock policies in respect to the Kurdish problem.

Underlining that the state provoked the Kurdish problem more and more in this way, Wallerstein said that; “There is a need for a political negotiation between the authorities of the Turkish state and the Kurdish movement. It is absolutely wrong to provoke the matter. Turkey, in line with all states in the world, faces the duty to make headway towards a real multinational state.”
