HEWLER, — In a statement to PNA, Iraqi Kurdish Parliamentarian Mahmud Osman remarked that Turkey didn’t have a policy on the solution of the Kurdish problem and said that “Turkey wants Kurds to kill each other, however Kurds will not be deceived by this game,” ANF reports.
Underlining that the problems at the border could be resolved if Turkey and Iran accepted and implemented the proposals of Kurdistan Region, Osman said the followings concerning Federal Kurdistan Region’s opinion about the matter; “First of all, this is a political problem that has got no concern with terror. This is a domestic issue of Iran and Turkey that both countries need to recognize the problem. Because it is wrong that 25 millions of Kurds aren’t granted their right and it needs to be known that the PKK is a consequence of the problem, not the problem itself.”
Noting that Iraqi Kurdish leader Massoud Barzani also supports a solution through dialogue for seeing that not a single solution has been obtained in the war which continues for 25 years now, Osman added; “In the face of Turkey’s efforts to drag Kurds into a war among each other, all sides and Kurdish Regional President Barzani rewords that they will not let that happen again.”
“If Turkey refuses the proposals of Kurdistan Region and insists on its own policy, I am of the opinion that the problem will continue in this way and the visit of Regional President will not produce any result.” added Mahmud Osman.
Underlining the allegations regarding Kurdistan Region’s support to Turkey in the matter of PKK, Osman noted that there wasn’t any kind of military support or cooperation with Turkey despite the political and diplomatic mutualisation between two countries.
In contradiction to the allegations that PKK prevents Turkey’s steps for a solution, Osman said; “I haven’t observed any plan made by Turkey to solve the Kurdish issue. They are saying that but there are no steps taken in practical terms. They should make amendments in the constitution to display their sincerity.”
