BADINAN, — The press and communication centre of People’s Defence Forces (HPG) reported in a statement that Turkish warplanes killed the 24 guerrillas by chemical weapons in the battles taken place in Guze Reshe and Gunde Pire areas of Chele district on October 22.
The statement said that the 24 bodies at Malatya Forensic Medicine Institution are those of the HPG guerrillas who lost their life in these clashes. HGP remarked that researches made had confirmed the usage of napalm bombs and chemical weapons during these clashes.
The photos of slain guerrillas can verify the HPG’s claim. The burned faces and the mutilated bodies could not be caused by ordinary weapons.
The HPG statement also mentioned that there was a unit of a total of 35 guerrillas who were in the region during the intensive air assaults and chemical bombardment during the clashes in Cukurca on 22-24 October. Due to such intensive bombardment – HPG stated – contacts have been stopped with the unit.
HPG stated that they have no news about the 11 guerrillas who they lost contact with. “Yet we don’t know – the statement said – they are dead or alive. Since we don’t know the identity of those in the Malatya Hospital, we’d rather to publicise the identity of all comrades in the unit,” statement added.
HPG ended the statement calling on all human rights organizations and democratic institutions to demand investigation into the usage of chemical weapon.
