Iran attacked Iraqi military base

pasdar_shootingHARANI, Iraq, — A military base located on the borders of Iran and Iraq was attacked by Iranian Revolutionary Guard Crops, Chater press reported.

The sentry post located in Harani in the region of Diyale was attacked by Iranian soldiers. In this attack a Kurdish police named Sirwan from Kelar, a city located in south Kurdistan was wounded and two military officers were arrested that none of them has been released yet.

The Iranian military forces have attempted to cross the border of Iraq especially from Kurdish side several times for different pretexts.

The heavy fighting was occurred for more than 20 days between Iranian Revolutionary Guard Crops (IRGC) and the Kurdish guerrillas of HRK (East Kurdistan Defence Forces) when Iranian soldiers launched cross border operations from Kurdish area.

However, they were confronted with the Guerrillas and defeated seriously. Thus they had to ask the Kurdish Regional Government to ask the PJAK guerrillas to stop fighting; consequently, PJAK announced a ceasefire and this trend continues.
