30 BDP members arrested

IZMIR, — Seventy Five members of pro-Kurdish BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) have been arrested in the last four days while BDP has been increasing called upon to enter Parliament.

In the meantime 30 Kurdish politicians, who were taken into custody following house raids carried out four days ago in Izmir, have been arrested while 4 were released.

While 38 detainees were sent to Izmir Courthouse, 30 Kurdish politicians, included six women, were referred to the vacation court with a demand of arrest on the grounds of “providing training on behalf of the organization” and “membership in the organization”.

The certificates of the detainees received from the BDP Academy of Politics were counted as “criminal evidence” of 30 Kurdish politicians who were therewith arrested and sent to prison.
