NEWSDESK, — Following the declaration of Jihad against the Kurds by Khomeini the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran on 19 August 1979, Kurdish people in East Kurdistan experienced some of the most unspeakable state terror.
32 year ago the Iranian Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) invaded the village of Qarne in Neghede and inflicted bloodshed on the village.
On 2nd September 1979 the village of Qarne was assaulted by IRGC and at least 49 people were reported to have been massacred.
Following the assault on Qarne, numerous villages were attacked by Iranian Revolution Guards Corps and hundreds of innocent people were killed.
Some of the villages that were assaulted included Qarne, Qelatan, Sofyan, Sewzir, Enderqash, Helbi, Koykan, Kereze Shikak, Chil Mistefa, Xelifan, Gorxane, Dilan Cherx, Wsuken, Qeregul, Demesur, Cafrawe, Mercanawe, Bayzawe, Cebreilawe, Gundewele, Dwawan, Saruqamish Brick Factory, Heleqush, and Gece.
From 1980 till 1983 more than 14 operations of mass destruction of Kurds were carried out by the IRGC. Within such massacres hundreds of innocent Kurds were mass-murdered but only the names of 242 people have been registered.
It should be pointed that 105 out of the 242 victims are from the villages of Neghede. 72 victims are reported to be from Mahabad and the rest from Urmiye, Bokan, and Shino.
