NORTH KURDISTAN, — In a statement to remember the 15 of August when the first bullet of Kurdistan struggle for freedom was fired, PKK and PJAK member prisoners called on the Kurdish people to make 15 August 2011 the day of freedom.
The statement said; “On the basis of all national-democratic achievements we made as a people, the 15 August under the leadership of Apo has been the most advanced representation of the struggle against all kinds of elimination and immigration. The organized resistance of the Kurdistan people, who were frightened, intimidated and insecured against and among each other, has proved the Kurdish people’s will for freedom and created a public reality by reaching an uninterrupted resistance and power. This stance has today created the opportunity of a new free life through the building of democratic self-rule in all areas of Kurdistan! We, the PKK and PJAK member prisoners in Kurdistan and Turkey prisons, will adopt the 15 August spirit and line, remain loyal to memories of our martyrs, crown the Kurdistan struggle for freedom with victory under all circumstances and not recognize any obstacle before this purpose.”
Prisoners also called on the Kurdish people, saying; “At the 27th anniversary of 15 August, our people need to upraise which is also the way and method of realization of Free Identity, Free Leadership and Democratic Self-rule that stand for a free future of the Kurdistan people. We are calling on our families in particular, all our people and their comrades and the revolutionaries and democrats in Turkey to welcome the anniversary of 15 August with a great enthusiasm, to celebrate this day with uprising and to exhibit all their possibilities and opportunities to make 15 August 2011 the day of freedom.”
