QENDIL, — East Kurdistan Defence Forces (HRK) released a statement on 5th August in which it takes responsibility for the sabotage of Iran – Turkey gas pipeline.
It states that their guerrilla forces have exploded the pipeline on 29th July and left the scene with no suffering. It rejects the Iranian claim of killing some of their guerrillas engaged in the attack.
The statement reads as follow:
Within the context of self-defence and in response to the offensives of the Iranian Islamic Regime and in reaction to the martyrdom of our comrades Egid Sine and Sarya Onur as well as the rests of our comrades who lost their lives in battle of self-defence against the Iranian military operations, the Unit of Martyr Ferzad launched an attack on a military garrison of the Iranian Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) located in Silen village in Hewraman. The attack was launched on 27th July and lasted for two hours. As a result 25 Revolution Guards were killed among whom there are 8 senior members of Iranian Intelligence Service. The chief of the garrison named as Hussein was also killed. Seven Revolution Guards were also injured in the attack.
Our guerrilla forces totally conquered the garrison and four military vehicles were destroyed on one of which there was a machine gun of 5/14 kind. After the attack, military reinforcement of Revolution Guards Corps arrived. They were trapped in ambushes set by our guerrillas and as a result they suffered a number of dead and injured. One of our guerrillas called Botan Culemerg lost his life during the attack which launched with the utmost sense of altruism and dedication. Comrade Botan offered his life to his nation and his cause with the highest spirit of dedication and heroism. The identity of martyr Botan is as follow:

Secondly: on 29th July at 12:40 am, our comrades launched sabotage on Iran-Turkey’s gas pipeline located Mako regions. They managed to explode the pipeline and leave the scene with no suffering. The allegation by the Iranian authorities that they have killed our comrades in the action is false.
Thirdly: on 2nd August and as a result of the regime’s persistence efforts to cross the borders of South Kurdistan, once again the Iranian Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) sought to make incursion on Berdenaze point using bulldozers pretending to make roads. But they were met with the resistance of our guerrilla forces and had to retreat once again.
Here we send our condolences to the Kurdish nation particularly to the family of martyr Botan. Once again we reiterate our pledges with our martyrs to the end.
