TEHRAN, — Some circles among the Iranian state apparatus had officially endorsed the defeat of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps in the battle against the Kurdish guerrillas of PJAK (Free Life Party of Kurdistan).
To hide the defeat some figures of the Iranian authorities have started to threaten the Kurdish resistance movement. A senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, in reference to their defeat, stated that “the bases of these groups wherever be, we will destroy it”.
General Pakpour the commander of ground forces of IRGC announced in a statement that they would not tolerated the state of insecurity on their borders. He also stated that until the Iraqi forces are not stationed on the border region, they will continue shelling of the region.
These remarks of threatening come right after the embarrassing defeat of the IRGC at the hands of the Kurdish guerrillas of PJAK.
It should be noted that PJAK had not been engaged in any hostility for the last year and in a formal statement encompassing 7 points called upon the Iranian authority on to negotiation table to solve the Kurdish issue in a democratic way.
Taking PJAK’s call as a sign of weakness, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, embarked on a series of offensive on 16th July which led to its disastrous defeat losing at least 300 Revolution Guards.
