HAMA, Syria, — At least 93 people were killed when the army launched an attack on city of Hama in central Syria on Sunday, a human rights activist said.
‘The army and security forces entered Hama this morning and opened fire on civilians, killing 93 and wounding several more,’ Rami Abdel Rahman of the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights told AFP news agency. .
Abdel Rahman said he feared the death toll may rise because a number of people were seriously wounded and doctors in Hama hospitals were reporting a shortage of medical supplies.
