KNK’s statement in memory of Qasimlu’s assassination

KNKBRUSSELS, — Kurdish National Congress (KNK) based in Brussels released a statement in relation to the 22nd anniversary of the assassination of Kurdish leader Dr. Qasimlu.

In the statement KNK strongly condemns the assassination of Dr Qasimlu by a bunch of Iranian terrorists and reminds that the Iranian regime still maintains political annihilation against Kurds.

“22 years passed since the assignation of Dr Qasimlu But the Iranian regime with collaboration of Turkey continues there policies of annihilation and eradication of the Kurdish people. Once more we remember all our martyrs who lost there life for the freedom of Kurdistan,” KNK stated on the statement.

Dr Qasimlu and his comrades were invited by the Iranian authorities to negotiate for a peaceful solution to the Kurdish issue.

The Iranian terrorists disguising themselves as diplomats assassinated Dr Qasimlu and his comrades on the negotiation table in Vienna on 13th July 1989.

Although the Austrian police arrested few of those terrorists, but they were released by the Austrian authorities in a bid to maintain economic ties with the Iranian regime.

After 22 years from this assassination those terrorists involved in the attack have not been revealed to the public.

The assassination of Kurdish leader and his comrades in the central Europe is one of the most revealing examples of the Kurdish nation’s subjection to state terrorism.
