Iran assassinated a Kurdish leader in Europe

qasimluVIENNA, — Today is the 22nd anniversary of the assassination of Kurdish leader and his comrades by a group of Iranian terrorists.

Kurdish Leader Dr Qasimlu and his comrades were invited by the Iranian authorities to negotiate for a peaceful solution to the Kurdish issue.

The Iranian terrorists disguising themselves as diplomats assassinated Dr Qasimlu and his comrades on the negotiation table in Vienna on 13th July 1989.

In that terrorist attack the Iranian group assassinated Kurdish diplomats including Dr Qasimlu as the Secretary General of Iranian Kurdistan Democrat Party (KDPI), Abdullah Qaderi Azer a member of the Central Committee of KDPI, and Dr Fazil Resul a university lecturer from South of Kurdistan.

Shortly after the assassination the Iranian terrorists who held diplomat passports flew back to Iran and were treated as heroes!

Although the Austrian police arrested few of those terrorists, but they were released by the Austrian authorities in a bid to maintain economic ties with the Iranian regime.

After 22 years from this assassination those terrorists involved in the attack have not been revealed to the public.

The assassination of Kurdish leader and his comrades in the central Europe is one of the most revealing examples of the Kurdish nation’s subjection to state terrorism.

The releasing of the terrorists by Austrian authorities is a stigmatic point for the Europe which is expected to be a watchdog for the implementation of human rights.

Austria released the terrorists who assassinated the Kurdish diplomats in Vienna in a bid to maintain economic ties with Iran.

Europe designate the legitimate struggle of Kurdish people as ‘terrorist’ but this is the Kurds who have been the main victim of terrorism.

By designating the Kurdish liberation movement as ‘terrorism’ the Europe is complicit in the subjection of the Kurds to the state terrorism of the occupying powers of Kurdistan.

To condemn the Iranian state terrorism the Kurdish people in East Kurdistan launched a general strike and did not go works.

Although the Iranian authorities took a strong measures to prevent people from embarking on such an action the Kurds in the cities of Mahabad, Bokan, Shino, Piranshar and other cities did not go to work in a bid to condemn the assassination of Dr Qasimlu and his comrades.
