Sherko Mearfi’s letter to the public

sherko_mEAST KURDISTAN, — Kurdish political prisoner Sherko Mearfi whose execution is scheduled for 1st May had written a letter to the public thanking those who have campaigned to halt his execution.

Voluntarily and willingly I have left behind all the pleasures of the modern life and opted for the life of struggle for the revival of humanity, Sherko said in the letter.

He continues; I Sherko Mearfi have been given death sentences and held in prison. Like many other political prisoners, I have been subjected to the most difficult tortures. As a member of the caravan of the campaigners for the revival of life and the freedom of a nation, whose lives are associated with the Ahorayian rhythms, I have been introduced to this campaign since I was born. Meeting with the plundered identity, and the long-tern oppressions have been engrained in my bones, voluntarily and willingly I have forsaken all the pleasures of the modern life and I have taken the life of struggle as the only way for the revival of humanity.

At the end of his letter Sherko says, that he has been told that he will be executed on 1st May 2011.

Since the date for his execution is not changed, he is highly likely to be executed on 1st may.
