UK, — Transmedia Publishing Ltd. proudly announces the publication of the print edition of the second volume of Abdullah Ocalan’s PRISON WRITINGS: THE PKK AND THE KURDISH QUESTION IN THE 21ST CENTURY.
Abdullah Ocalan, leader of the Kurdish revolutionary movement, the PKK, was the most wanted man in Turkey for almost two decades until he was kidnapped and arrested in 1999. He is now serving a life sentence in a Turkish prison on an island off the Turkish coast.
In his second book Mr. Ocalan applies the political and historical philosophy that was developed in the first volume of his PRISON WRITINGS: THE ROOTS OF CIVILISATION (PlutoPress) to the Kurdish question.
He calls for a “Renaissance of the Middle East” that can result in the integration of democratic western values and universal human rights with the cultural values of the Middle Eastern societies.
Abdullah Ocalan has written a number of books since he has been imprisoned. Transmedia will successively translate and publish these prison writings in several languages both as print editions and e-books for the Amazon Kindle, the Barnes & Noble Nook and the Apple iPad and available from all major online book-shops.
About the first volume: “Abdullah Ocalan has produced a brilliant theoretical study of the origins and development of civilisation.” (Stan Newens, review in The Spokesman)
About the author: “A man stamped as nothing more than a terrorist by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU but who nevertheless is revered by millions to whom he gave a new sense of dignity.” (Michael M. Gunter, review in Middle East Policy)
PRISON WRITINGS: THE PKK AND THE KURDISH QUESTION IN THE 21ST CENTURY is distributed by Pluto Press in the UK and Palgrave Macmillan in the U.S. and Canada.
It is presently available from Pluto’s website, from Amazon.co.uk, WHSmith.co.uk and many more in Europe and North America over the coming days.
