MERIWAN, — In response to the execution of Kurdish political prisoner and the member of Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK), Kurdish geurrillas launched a strike on the Iranian militaries and killed 9 and wounded several, HRK stated today.
East Kurdistan Forces (HRK) released a statement and said they hit a military garrison of Iranian Revolutionary Guards in the city of Meriwan.
“On 1st April our guerrilla forces launched a strike on a military garrison of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards located in middle of Askol and Sinawe regions of Meriwan city. That garrison has been targeting the region as well as our guerrillas, and the visiting of the Iranian intelligent units to the garrison took a sharp increase,” the statement said.
HRK claimed that the strike was a response to the execution of their comrades Husen Xizri and the escalation pressure on the Kurdish people.
“This strike was launched in response to the execution of our comrade Husen Xizri, and the escalation of the pressure on our people. It was carried out at 12 pm and lasted only 15 minutes. Within the strike, 9 Iranian militaries were killed and few were wounded. Four Kalashnikov rifles and military ammunitions were confiscated by our guerrillas and fires broke out as a result of the strike”, the statement continued.
According to HRK the Kurdish guerrillas had no causalities. “Our forces left the scene intact with no casualties,” the statement concluded.
