QENDIL, Defence Region of Medya, — The coordination of the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK) condemned the statement of Iraqi’s Foreign Minster Hoshyar Zebari, who said PJAK is a terrorist organisation.
The coordination of PJAK released a statement in which it condemned Zebari’s statement and called upon the Kurdistan Regional Government to provide the public with explanation.
Read PJAK’s statement as follow:
For the public opinion:
The members of our party’s coordination convened on 9th January and the current political circumstance were discussed within the meeting. It was decided to reinforce our struggle against all sorts of anti-Kurdish concepts applied by the adversaries of the Kurdish people in all parts of Kurdistan.
As it is known, confrontation and hostilities among the conservative and intervening powers led by Iran and the United States ushered into a new phase. They have endeavoured to considerably escalate their hostility out of their borders particularly in the most of Middle Eastern countries. Both sides seek to broaden their own influences over the region and to weaken one another’s position. This confrontation, particularly in Iraq, has culminated into apex and the formation of a national government presupposed debilitation of one of these sides.
After a long process of government formation in Iraq, it was found out that the Iranian regime and its significant influences in this country was the main obstacle toward the formation government. Iran had also a major role in the formation of the new government in Iraq. That was well evident that the Iraqi election was a cosmetic and artificial device to hoax public opinion. Such phenomena and many similar issues in countries like Afghanistan, Lebanon, Palestine and etc, have resulted in the debilitation of American side and the formation of new alliance among the regional powers. Within that framework and to present the Iranian political standpoint on this issue, the Iranian government organised a meeting in Istanbul within which various dimensions of this alliance was pointed out. What is crystal clear is that fact that there are new agreement among the US, Iran, Syria and the new Iraqi government on various issue of Middle East particularly the issue of Iraq and the Kurdish question. This matter became more systematised after the Eco Summit and it has new dimension in regard to the Kurdish issue.
Efforts have also been made to discuss the Iranian nuclear issue based on the centrality of this alliance. The endorsement of this issue by the Iranian government and its approval to include any country except the US too well explain the validity of this claim. The joint concept of Iran, Turkey, Syria and the new Iraqi government against the Kurds and the Kurdish resistance movement has gained a new broad dimension interlinked with the new political balance, and attempts to decimate and wipe out the Kurds are under way. In the North Kurdistan, while the concept of democratic self-rule surfaced and there had been talks to solve the Kurdish issue, the Justice and Development Party all of the sudden lashed out the process and once more it repeated its old slogan of “one nation, one flag and one language”. In doing so, it showed its adherence to the policies of denial and annihilation of the Kurds. In the meantime the Turkish government released the members of Hezbollah from prison who had a major role in the killing of the Kurds. The intention behind this move is to liquidate the Kurdish resistance movement via the political Islam.
Additionally, the Iraqi President Jalal Talabani who secured his post by the Iranian backing sent the message that such a discourse including the bilingual status in the North Kurdistan was an early project and as such he indicated his participation in the concept. At the same day the execution of Hebibullah Letifi brought into agenda by the Iranian government and the escalation of pressure on our people in East of Kurdistan became so palpable. Following this matter the Iranian Foreign Minister who has recently occupied this post dedicated his first move to visit Iraq and met with the Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari who labelled our party as a terrorist organisation which ostensibly would not be allowed to carry out operation against the Iraqi’s neighbours.
Within the Iranian borders, such a matter is not only associated with the external concept and policies, all internal struggle for democracy have been subjected to threat. With no doubts, Iran has been trying to stabilise its system and prestige both in and outside. While Iran is employing such a concept for which it needs to form external alliances, it is met by the internal turmoil. Such a concept is not only associated with the Kurds; with the possibility of the establishment of such a system, all of the Iranian nations particularly the struggles for democracy will be disintegrated. While the Kurdish people and their resistance movement lead the struggle for democratisation of Iran, attempts are made to neutralise such struggle by liquidation of PJAK.
With no doubts all these matters constitute the fact that the mentioned concept against the Kurds and their resistance movement is a perilous concept and the inclusion of the Kurds in it, is a means for its justification. As a result of the exhaustion of American influence in the region, those lines and groups who had previously relied on the US support are at an intersection now; they either die away or obey to their strategies. The dominant groups in the South Kurdistan, Democratic Party and Patriotic Union who relied on the external factors, now struggle for the Iranian backing. With no doubt, the Iranian support for the Kurdish groups in South Kurdistan will be presupposed by their antagonism with the Kurdish resistance movement in the East Kurdistan. This is concurrent with Kurdistan Democratic Party’s congress in which they proclaimed serious steps toward the solution to the Kurdish issue within the framework of unity of the Kurdish people. Nevertheless, Hoshyar Zebari’s statement and his visit with the Iranian politicians contradict this claim.
Terrorising our party, PJAK, in the first anniversary of the execution of Fesih Yameni the Kurdish political activist and blacklisting of the Kurdish struggle in the East Kurdistan is not a coincident. In the current time tens of Kurdish youths and activists are on the death row in the Iranian prison. By the execution of Kurdish political activist, the Iranian government wants to destroy the will and determination of our people. The announcement of such statement in the current time would only justify and legitimise the Iranian state terrorism against our people in the East Kurdistan.
As the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK), we condemn the statement of the Iraqi’s Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zebari in which he labelled our party as terrorist organisation and we regard it as a sign of aligning themselves with the Kurdish foes and of disdain and humiliation of the blood of the martyrs of Kurdish freedom movement. From now on, we do hold them responsible for aggression against our people or the possible execution of the Kurdish prisoners of conscious in the Iranian prisons. Owing to this matter, Hoshyar Zebari and other who are placed in such a concept should reassess their stance. In particular we call upon the Kurdistan Regional Government to provide the public with explanation.
Such an assault is not against a certain Kurdish political party or a certain part of Kurdistan, but a destructive storm against all parts of Kurdistan and all the Kurdish different groups. For this reason we call upon all the Kurdish institutions and political groups to take stance against this overwhelming anti-Kurdish concept and act upon it sensitively. We do also call upon the civil and democratic institutions, political and human right activists, scholars and intellectual to take stance against such treatments. The Kurdish nation should evaluate such an issue reasonably and in order to stand for the martyrs and our national values, they should scale up their democratic struggle in all parts of Kurdistan. To retreat such anti-Kurdish concept, our people should keep their unity and prepare for any kinds of new assaults and do express their discontent in various forms.
We as the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK) have always demonstrated our readiness for any kind of attack from the foes and adversaries of the Kurdish people. Once again we declare that we would not allow for any attempt aimed at destruction of our people’s will. We see ourselves as responsible toward the Kurdish people in all parts of Kurdistan in particular the achievement of our people in South Kurdistan, and we have the power to respond to any offensives. Concept of such a character, destructive strategies, and execution would not deter us and lack the potential to demoralise our people and our party. To achieve our legitimate rights and to protect the free will and determination of our people, we do reinforce our campaign for freedom and sovereignty of our people, with all our power.
Revolutionary Greetings
Coordination of the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK)
