QENDIL, — East Kurdistan Defence Forces (HRK) revealed the identity of two guerrillas who lost their lives in Semlas district when they Iranian Revolutionary Guards initiated a military operation.
“Although our party declared a unilateral ceasefire and our forces are in the position of non-action period, and we have been pushing through a peaceful settlement to the Kurdish issue, nevertheless they have been insisting on war and hostility since they want Kurdistan to be in continuous war and bloodshed,” HRK statement said.
In regard to the killing of the two guerrillas the statement said, “In 10th September two of our guerrillas who were present in the village of Melhem of Selmas district for the purpose of carrying out their political duties, came under attack of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards assisted by the local collaborators and consequently they lost their lives.”
HRK revealed the identity of the two martyrs as follow:
1. Zinal Kabank with the code name of “Rojhat Amed”, born in 1972 in Liche district of Amed province. He joined the guerrilla forces in 1993.
2. Fershid Katurani, with the code name of “Bahoz Serhed” born in 1984 in the district of Sine in Kurdistan province. He joined the guerrilla forces in 2007.
At the end of the statement HRK expressed its deep condolences to the Kurdish people and the family of the guerrillas and pledged that it without the framework of self-preservation they will not leave these offensives unresponsive.
HRK is the military wing or the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK) which founded in 2004.
