HRK: 2 mercenaries killed in Kosalan

HRK-_logoKOSALAN, Eastern Kurdistan, — The Iranian Military operations in Kurdistan resulted in the death of two in the District of Hewraman. According to HRK’s statement the Iranian Revolutionary Guards set ambushes for the Kurdish guerrillas on Wednesday 20th.

The HRK claimed that, “The Iranian Revolutionary Guards have been continuously engaged in military operations in the district of Hewraman particularly in Kosalan. They positioned their troops on Hasho’s hill in the region of Kosalan and set ambushes for our troops on 20th. Consequently our troops were set in their ambushes and to defend themselves, they had to confront the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.

“Within the framework of self-defence our troops confronted the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and as the result of that, two mercenaries were killed and a number of them were injured,” HRK added.

HRK stated that after the incident the Iranian Artilleries initiated a range of shelling of the regions. “After the incident which took place as the result of the ambush set by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, the regions of Kosalan came under Iranian bombardments and shelling,” the statement concluded.

HRK is the armed wing of the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK) founded in 2004 as the result of the systematic and continuous oppression of the Kurdish nation by the Iranian government. PJAK upholds the libertarian ideology of Apoism which advocates an ecological-democratic society with gender equality. PJAK’s main goal is to democratise Iranian system and to create a democratic con-federation for the long- oppressed Kurds.
