ANKARA, — Turkish military state have been launching cross-border operations against the Kurdish guerrillas for the last few decades, none of which produced a result.
Turkish parliament once more extended the cross-border operations for another year.
The memorandum, which allows Turkish army to carry out cross-border military operations on Kurdistan Federate Region (Northern Iraq), has been extended for another year.
Accordingly a closed session presided by Council Deputy Chairman Nevzat Pakdil lasted nearly three hours and 15 minutes. Among 451 participator MPs, there were 428 affirmative votes and 18 black balls and an abstaining vote.
The Prime Ministry Memorandum prescribes the extension of government authorization for cross border operations on Kurdistan Federate Region to 1 more year by 17 October.
