PJAK condemns the terrorist attack in Sine

pjak_logoQENDIL, The Defence Regions of Medya, — The coordination of the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK) released a statement and condemned the attack on Thursday 7th in Sine.

PJAK regards the event as a terrorist act which serves the interest of certain group. We received a copy of PJAK’s statement which is as follows:

The recent events in Eastern Kurdistan are to prepare the ground for further militarisation

A terrorist activity carried out in the city of Sine on Thursday 7th and resulted in the death and injury of a number of civilians. Furthermore a similar activity was carried out last week in the city of Mahabad in which several innocent people were killed and wounded.

All these happened while the Eastern Kurdistan Defence Forces (HRK) released a statement in the spring in which it declared a unilateral ceasefire and expressed its willingness to find a peaceful and democratic solution to the Kurdish issue as well as creating an adequate political environment for the society and its civil institutions to organise themselves.

Nonetheless, instead of taking advantage of this opportunity and regard it as a positive step for the solution of one of the most fundamental problems of Iran, instead of working to find a solution to the Kurdish issue, which would be a significant step toward the solution of other Iranian political, diplomatic, economic and security issues, we daily witness the diplomatic traffics between Iran, Turkey and Syria; the traffics that aim for the annihilation of Kurdish resistance movement and by availing of their chauvinistic and nondemocratic mentality they insist in the suppression of Kurdish democratic demands and aspirations.

We as the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK) would declare that the Kurdish resistance has never fallen out of the rubric of self-defence and in order to defend and preserve its cultural, social and historic values it has always worked within the framework of self-defence. As the public opinion is aware, once we carry out an activity, we overtly inform our nation as well the international community. Therefore we do strongly condemn any activity or conduct that target civilians, inflict injury on the people or serve as a ground for the massacre of the people. Consequently we declare that we have no any connection with the event of Thursday in the city of Sine.

We are of opinion that such activities would serve as a means for the militarisation of Kurdistan. Such activities would open the doors for further disaster, which would not only serve the government but in fact would be in the advantage of certain groups who are fed and rely on war and hostility for their existence.

This is a join conspiracy of the conservative power of the region against and in response to the Kurdish democratic demands and aspirations. Therefore the Kurdish society should sensitively evaluate the forthcoming stage and respond to such conspiracies by solidifying their ranks as well as escalating the level of the democratic campaigns.
