SAQEZ, Eastern Kurdistan—According to the Mokryan News Agency two Kurdish men Mr. Jamal Amini and Mohammad Muneri were convicted of alleged anti-revolutionary activities. The two men stand accused of political activism; including involvement with a Kurdish political party.
Their lawyer, Sayed Wafar Husseini, confirmed reports that the court had convicted and imprisoned the two men. He confirmed that Jamal Amini has been sentenced to three years imprisonment by the court of Sana. Whilst Mohammad Muneri has received the harsher penalty, a five year sentence.
Opponents of the Iranian regime are coming under increasing pressure, particularly the Kurdish ethnic group.
