Discrimination causes Iran lose its best Kurdish athletes:

IRAN — Ever since its emergence in 1979 the Islamic regime imposed discriminatory rules and laws against the Kurds in all social, political and economic fields.

As a result of unlimited discrimination against the Kurds, they are deprived from all basic human rights. The regimes discriminatory policies were concerned some Kurdish champions. Amongst them there is a Kurdish youth who is playing Kyokushin Karate.

25 year old Wahab Khaloleh from Piranshar city in Eastern Kurdistan had gained several honours for Iran and he has obtained one silver and one bronze medal at the time he was playing for Iranian International team. However, due to the unlimited discrimination policies and deprivation of Kurdish regions, Wahab is now living in Britain.

Currently, he is playing for Yorkshire province in England and has gained honours both for the region and for the United Kingdom. On 24th July 2010 he has gained the first place amongst Wales, Northern Ireland and England. At present he is preparing himself to play for Britain (Yorkshire’s representative) against Canada and United States of America. This competition will take place in London on 2nd Oct 2010.

This is not the first time that a Kurdish athlete leaves Eastern Kurdistan because of deprivation and oppression of Iranian cruel regime. Saman Tahmasbi, who is a Kurdish athlete in wrestling, obtained 2 world bronze medals and 1 gold medal of Asia, left Iran because of not being employed by the Iranian sport federation for the reason that he is a Kurd; since Kurds are deprived from all social, political and economic domains.
