NORTHERN Kurdistan, Turkey–According to the Kurdish defence forces (HPG) press release, in responds to the death of four of their forces (guerrillas) which were killed by the Turkish army in gelemerg city, HPG had performed its legitimate right under Article 51 of UN Charter, in defence to the Kurdish people involved in clashes which led to the death of four Kurdish disloyal” paramilitary formed by the Turkish government to confront Kurdish freedom fighters”, one Turkish military expert and three military artilleries were completely destroyed.
Although PKK has declared unilateral ceasefire several times in order to bring about peaceful and democratic solution to the Kurdish issue in Northern Kurdistan, Turkish army and government approached the ceasefire reluctantly and ignored ceasefire flatly. Turkish government with their discriminatory policies against the Kurds in Northern Kurdistan still pursuing their anti-Kurdish campaign despite signing and ratifying several international treaties in regards of Human Rights, cultural, language rights.
It is worse noticing that the International community, especially US governments and EU are too reluctant to put pressure on Turkish government to solve the issue politically and democratically. Whereas, they pursue different policies in regards of Darfur and Tibet, which they continuously increasing their diplomatic and economic pressures on Sudanese and Chinese government to respect the right of self determination of the ethnic or religious minorities.
