BINGOL, Northern Kurdistan, — Turkish army has been constantly setting firs on the Kurdistan’s forests alleging that they been shielding the Kurdish guerrillas.
Since now who they have set fire on at least 33 different regions in the last month.
According to the local reporters the Turkish army set firs on the forestland in Bingol. It is reported that Turkish soldiers conducting an operations against the Kurdish guerrillas around Ekinyolu village close to Bingol city set fire on forestland at around 21:00 last night. The locals reported that the soldiers also prevented the villagers who attempted to put out the fire with their own limited means. Since the increase of the clashes between PKK forces and the Turkish army, the soldiers are deliberately setting fire on forestland around the operations areas so that the Kurdish guerrillas will not be able to hide.
