Turkish Army sets fire on the Kurdish forests

BINGOL, Northern Kurdistan, — According to Firat News Agency the Turkish Army set fires on the Kurdish forest in the district of Bingol following the clashes which took place last nigh between the Kurdish guerrillas and the Turkish soldiers.

 

It is reported that fire fighters of Regional Directorate of Forestry in Bingol could not extinguished the fire started after clashes between Kurdish rebels and Turkish soldiers and orchards and haylofts belonging to the villagers were also partially destroyed.

 

After the clashes between the PKK guerrillas and the Turkish soldiers which increased recently, army is deliberately setting fire on the forested lands in order to prevent the rebels hide.
