XINERE, XAKURK, Southern Kurdistan, — The Turkish war planes took off from Diyarbakir military airport and hit the territories in Southern Kurdistan where are believed to be under the control of the Kurdish guerrillas.
Almost ten Turkish jets took off at 1:30 am today and bombed Xinere and Xakurk regions in Southern Kurdistan for two hours. The regular bombardments of Kurdish villages are the clear violation Iraqi and Kurdish sovereignty which for Turkish authorities seem to be of little value.
In the last attack on 1st July Turkish war planes bombed Qendil, Xinere and Xakurk regions and some civil settlements like Gozine, Bokriskan, Girdi Hole and Kurtek villages had also been targeted. While 3 houses in Gazine village were destroyed in the attack and livestock had been perished, the villages protested the silence of the Kurdistan Regional Government in the face Turkish air attacks on the civilians.
