Turkish Police attacked Kurdish protesters

Hakkari- Northern Kurdistan: The Turkish police attacked the Kurdish demonstrators in Yuksekova district of Hakkari who were protesting the burial of the Kurdish guerrillas by the state officials in an unknown place.

The Kurdish demonstrators included the Mayor of Yuksekova who were protesting against the Turkish military operations in Kurdistan were attacked by the Turkish police on Thursday 8th July.

It is reported that the Turkish police attacked the demonstrators with water cannons and teargas bombs and the Kurdish youths responded with throwing stones at the police vehicles. The clashes are still continuing in the town.

According to the local new sources no shopkeeper in the town opened their shops and the Kurdish youth blocked the roads with barricades.

 

The Mayors of Yuksekova and Esendere districts as well as some other BDP (Peace and Democratic Party) members set off towards Semdinli district where allegedly bodies of 12 Kurdish fighters are buried.
