Kurdish children protest against child labour

Batman- Northern Kurdistan (Turkey): Kurdish children from Batman city yesterday were on the streets for not selling tissues, polishing shoes or working in unsafe manners. They held banners and chanted slogans against child labour.

 

The city witnessed an unusual and yet very important march by some five hundred children attending courses at the Child Development Centre, created by the Social Services Provincial Directorate. Walking with torn shoes, children shouted that they don’t want to be battened.

 

12 June is World Fight Day against Child Labour and yesterday children took to the streets wearing t-shirts writing “Sensibility against Child Labour” The march saw the participation of Deputy Governor Yasemin Çetinkaya, Provincial Social Services Director Ali Tarhan and Provincial Deputy Director of National Education Bahattin Atilla.
