Sewllawa- Eastern Kurdistan: According to the local news, 70 hectares of Sewllawa’s forest in Meriwan, a city of East Kurdistan, have been set in fire by the Iranian regime.
‘The fire started from Friday till Sunday and the main cause was the wind’ as stated by Akrem Tofiqi, the minister of environment of Sinne’s region. Yet, he did not mention the reason for the continuation of the fire for 48 hours. In conjunction to this, recently a great fire flamed in the forests of “Melekshahi”, in Ilam region in the east of Kurdistan, and Iranian authorities tried to extinguish the fire only after 4 days.
In the recent years the Iranian regime has deliberately burned a lot of forest in Eastern Kurdistan and has not had any attempt for extinguishing the fire. With respects to the resources from east of Kurdistan, most of the time forests are burned by Iranian authorities.
In a country where the humans’ lives are not safe, how the plant lives will be safe? Iran executes many Kurds every year and is attempting to destroy Kurdistan’s both humans and natural lives.
